Today, July 11, 2022, Only Murders in the Building has been renewed for a season 3 over at Hulu. This announcement comes as the second season is current underway and releasing weekly on Hulu in the US and internationally on Disney+.
Craig Erwhich, President of Hulu Originals, said that “Only Murders in the Building’ is the true crown jewel of our slate“. Erwich then goes on to praise the acting and storytelling by Selena, Steve, and Marty, and the dynamic the cast have during filming.
Season 2 of the show is currently airing and picks up after the death of Arconia President Bunny Folger, and follows the investigation into finding the murderer in a sea of numerous possible suspects. The investigators lives are complicated more when they find themselves the focus of a different podcast — how ironic.
The confirmation of a third season was teased by a press release at Hulu in which the cast asked if the fans were enjoying the second season, and then announced that the show would return for a third season.

In a recent press tour, the cast were asked by Vareity how long they would like to continue the show. Martin joked that he would like to do the show “Until I’m in a walker, that’s how long I’d like to do it,” whilst Short remarked that he’d like to take it day-by-day and see what feels natural.
It’s possible, then, that there could be many many more seasons on the horizon for Only Murders in the Building, each with a different storyline and murder to solve. The show currently airs weekly on Hulu and is created by Martin and John Hoffman.
