CBS is on fire recently, quite literally, with the announcement of the upcoming drama series Fire Country, which is based on the experiences of Max Theirot’s upbringing, who also stars in the show as one of the main characters, Bode Donovan.
Despite living the life of Clay Spenser on the CBS drama, SEAL Team, for the previous five seasons, Max Theriot had his eyes set on something much closer to home — a show based around the firefighters of the small town where he grew up. Here’s everything we know about Fire Country, which joins the growing list of shows focused around first responders (Station 19, 9-1-1, we’re looking at you for inspiration here).
What is it About?
The series is based on the experiences of Theirot as a young teenager, as he watched those around him leave shool and enroll in, more often than not, the fire service or other first responder roles.
Officially, the series follows a convict, Bode Donovan (Theirot) looking to redeem himself and hopefully, shorten his prison sentence by volunteering to join a programme that forces him to return to his hometown and inlist in the fire service. According to Looper, the series has a narrative dating all the way back to the 1940s, thus, there’ll be plenty of opportunities for danger, politics and controversy.
Who Stars in Fire Country?

Fire Country has an impressive rap sheet attatched to it, with quite a few big names that is certain to draw a lot of attention to the show; some cast members are new, whilst some are taken from other CBS shows already airing.
Mat Thieriot stars in the leading role as Bode Donovan, Billy Burke stars as the crew’s chief, Vince Leone, whilst Jordan Calloway stars as Donovan’s nemesis and romantic nemesis Jake. Also appearing in the main cast include Stephanie Arcila as Arabella, Jules Latimer as Everly, Kevin Alejandro as Manny and finally, Diane Farr as Cherly Leone.
When Will Fire Country be Released?
If you’re a fan of some of the currently airing first-responder series’, such as “SEAL Team”, “9-1-1”, “Station 19”, you’re definitely going to want to tune in to Fire Country when it airs on Friday, October 7, at 9 p.m. ET; the show is expected to be simultaneously released on CBS’ over-the-top streaming service, Paramount+ after the release.
